Mitch,

I believe you will find that 4960 will have very little if any trouble getting though the 1472 day inspection. There is a lot of quality work in the locomotive and my visit from 2010 showed there were highly qualified people there in 2010 that were there when I was an employee. I have a lot of trust in their abilities.

For those of you wondering about the code question I raised there is no standard for welders in CFR 49 part 230. There are outlines for the welding technique which may have minimum requirements for welders. For the record I believe that GCR can easily find a quality welder if they need one.
