The worst point is down below the confluence in the Hamberg area and it might be 3 1/2 miles across though much is pretty shallow. It looks wide because once you crest the bank or the levee
it's nearly flat bluff to bluff. It's slowly going down and the Corps is cutting back on releases
with a target of 40,000 cfs out of Gavin around 10/1. The river due to the scouring from the high
flows should be back ion it's bank several weeks before that. It's a mess, total pain, KC is over
1 1/2 hours longer each way from Omaha and the truck traffic on the two lanes is a @#$%&.
