I'd like to have seen that 1965 special Suntan Special. Where did it stop?

My understanding is the regular Suntan Special last ran in 1959. I've seen photos of it being pulled by SD9s and even RS5s. What was the normal diesel power for those few short years after steam? Did it ever get Trainmasters, or were they too heavy for the branch?
