I don't think we will ever see one man crews. Each train will have to be stafeed by an operating crew, a union rep, an attorney, and accountant, a secretary and a federal
inspector (ooops - I forgot - Specialist - who may not have any previous rail experience) all wired into a super computer with zillions of lines of buggy conflicting code.
"Our" government is protecting us from ourselves so we can be "safe" - so who is going to protect us from our government? 66 pages to explain why conductors need to be certified and how to do it? As a shortline owner I know said - for this much trouble he isn't going to have conductors - everyone will be qualified as both conductor and engineer.
