Howard:

I love that second photo, particularly since I work in one of the buildings in the photo. The Smithfield Cafe is still going. The trolleys running to Mt. Lebanon were relocated into a subway in 1985. The Gimbels store closed in 1986 and is now the headquarters for Heinz as well as the location of street level shops and other offices.
