I also saw this train, passing Jack London Square. The power was actually a pair of SD40-2s (pardon my roster-shot, louver-counting past) and the train was the Warm Springs Turn. The caboose is now a "shoving platform" with the doors welded shut, and nobody bothered to close the windows first. Why it was on that train, I have no idea.
