The Milwaukee Road didn't go to Wallace, ID. The Northern Pacific came to town from the East, over Lookout Pass from St. Regis, MT., while the Union Pacific came into town from the West / Southwest out of Plummer, ID. The NP line in its' later days used trackage rights over Milwaukee Road from St. Regis to Haugen. MT., after a portion of their line washed out. While some of the NP line is now under Interstate 90, other portions are still a drivable trail.
