> How about rebuilding the rest of our aging power transmission lines, dams, highways,

Oh would PG&E love that - get their infrastructure rebuilt at taxpayer expense, then rake it in charging those same taxpayers again for its hour by hour use.

And rebuild dams? In California, where the eco-freaks are tearing them down?

Fix the roads? - where "using fees" (ie, gas taxes) haven't kept pace with inflation for decades? The people won't pass the needed taxes - period. They do seem to pass rail bonds (but not highway bonds), as long as they are falsely promised it won't come out the general fund.

> How about reducing the cost of a U.C. education?

By paying more tax dollars towards it? Wouldn't paying more for it make it MORE expensive? I've never understood how our universities could cost $40,000 per year per student. That's one instructor for every three students! -Hah! Besides, have you seen an employable graduate from any California school lately? We're already not getting anywhere near money's worth, even now! So why spend more?

Even if the CHSRA plans are screwy, which they are, those "farmer's" (big huge corporate conglomerations actually) complaints are still nothing but a whining crock of sh....! Requiring minimal adjustments at worst, on a very few parcels - mostly none at all.

Their real problem? - they didn't get their big piece of the pie they demanded. Somebody else got it!

And it wasn't the public either!

A better idea - leave it all in the citizen's own pockets, where it might get spent on something actually useful. Like shoes for the kids.
