I am sorry to hear the loss of Tom, I knew him when I worked at Amtrak in LA in the early 1990s. This depresses me even more, as I have just received official report that UP Conductor J. Mike Howard, who worked City of Industry, Montclair, and Colton, among other places on the UP since he hired on in the early 1970s, also died within the last couple of days, ALSO OF CANCER! Just goes to prove that you don't ever win with cancer. If I sat back and counted all the Railroaders I knew and worked with in my life that have died of Cancer, I would loose track after counting them on my hands after 3 times of starting over. This is not to mention all the friends I have had over the years who were not Railroader/Railfans who have died of Cancer. This is getting scarry! R.I.P Tom and Mike.
