Back then, there were 4 main Nathan chimes:
M-3 short 3 bell chime (used on some freight power)
M-5 short 5 bell chime (the standard for the WP and used a lot by the SP, especially on the
Trainmasters)
P-3 long 3 bell chime (likely the most used or most common Nathan chime on the SP)
P-5 long 5 bell chime (AKA Swedish Chime, these were a favorite and were seen on some
passenger power)

Don't even know if Nathan still manufacturs airhorns or not. It is my understanding that they
were somewhat more expensive to fabricate. However, they were able to be tuned and you could replace parts on them. Leslie was another well known US manufacturer of airhorns.

Hope this helps some
