On the south side of the trestle there used to be a catwalk just below the tracks. WHen I was about 10 years old or thereabouts we and our family friends rented one of those houses along the river and main street for several years and we kids would run up the hill to the start of the trestle and walk on the catwalk primarily to be there clinging to the boards when the steam engine went over and rocks and hot water and etc dropped down on us. It was exciting. It was stupid. We were forbidden by our parents to do it. Of course. :-)
