George upon looking at some old slides it appears you are right about Santa Fe using IH trucks. Though Fords are represented I found no Hi-rail Fords in my old stuff (mid-70's). One Hi-rail IH pickup, 1 hi-rail Chevy pickup, 1 IH Hi-rail boom truck, and Hi-rail Dodge van full of suits that suprised me once. A shot at San Berdoo shops shows a large Dodge section truck and even the tricked out Riverside Signal Maintainer's truck was IH. In my senile defense Santa Fe did buy a lot of Fords incl large section trucks in the late 70's. IH was probably a good customer of Santa Fe and got patronage for that. I also remember Pettibones and Burros too but that is another story.
