Sage advice, especially since there are a lot of wannabe hunters (especially the "city slicker" types) out there who simply cannot tell the difference between domestic cows and bulls and cow or bull elk (some ranchers in Texas have even gone so far as to actually hang signs saying "cow", "steer", or "bull" on their livestock during hunting season there; I've heard lots of stories where livestock being shot here in (northern) New Mexico and in southern Colorado, so that didn't surprise me one bit). I would also strongly recommend wearing a blaze orange hat of some sort in addition to the vest/jacket, since it's quite possible that your noggin might be the only part of your body that's visible (and might very well be what some hunter shoots at). Try also to stay out in the open as much as possible; some wannabe hunters may (or will) shoot at the first sign of movement instead of waiting for their "prey" to come out into the open.
