Tidewater Southern: Trip to Franzia Bros

Good morning, everbody...
It has now been some 46 years since one of the GREATEST excursions ever, operated from Oakland to Turlock, CA to visit Franzia Brothers Winery. Dubbed the "Blossom Time Special" or something similar (been a long time), it consisted of all Heavyweight-equipment and routed over the Western Pacific and Tidewater Southern. How many of you remember this ?

Seventeen cars snaking down 9th Street in Modesto. Blocking traffic on the return trip while "BAERA" bartenders ran into a liquor store to replenish their supplies. (grin)

Yes, its those "special" moments that make these crazy excursions a lot of fun !!

Here are a few photos from John Stashik and Gary Jones along with the article from the Tidewater Southern website. Hope you enjoy it... Unfortunately, I don't understand why the photos seem to be blocking out parts of the written material. Can any of you computer experts FIX this ?
