In an agreement unanimously passed by the Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District board of commissioners Thursday night, the Timber Heritage Association will lease two of the district’s historic buildings on its Samoa properties to store several historic locomotives.
I was at the meeting last night. To flesh out the article above a little more.... The lease agreement is for one year, THA is supposed to do at least $39,600.00 worth of improvements to the site/buildings. This is not a per building rent, but total amount. This does not mean THA has to spend the $39,600 to improve the buildings, but at least provide the volunteer labor. The District will provide $27,000 worth of materials. The lease is only for one year, because the District is worried they may need the space with the expansion of the Redwood Dock.
