Like it or not, there are those of us for whom flying is not an option under any circumstances.

Having metal in my body would require submission to what I consider unacceptable violations of my constitutional rights and the seating conditions pose a severe risk of DVT. That leaves me with two choices--- to drive, take the train or a combination of the two.

It was amazing to me that a certain former Secretary of Transportation, whose only business accumen was selling insurance in San Jose's Japan Town, thought he could eliminste Amtrak or privatize it. Sorry, Norm, You and your buddy Rod don't know your anus from a hole in the ground.

The Mineta Transportation Institute is comparable only to old issues of Cap'n Billy's Whiz Bang.
