As a former employee on the line during Sierra's reign, I have a different viewpoint. I'm glad the IP has stepped in as operator, and wish them the best of luck operating and making the Santa Cruz branch run.

The Sierra was shunned by a few UP employees during their tenure, with much the same attitude as "local crew". It's a non-productive waste of energy.

As "local crew" correctly pointed out, it's a lot of effort maintaining a railroad, let's get behind IP, not obstructing them.

I'm gratified the Santa Cruz rail line will continue to exist with shiny rails, and yes even one wig-wag left.
