BNSF cop: He was somewhat taken aback at the number of people who knew about the trip and said he thought it was confidential information. He was also surprised at the number of scanners, again assuming confidentiality on the radio. He said his main objective was to keep everyone safe.

Glad to see he was so completely out of touch. How does he figure a railfan/steam powered excursion would be confidential? That so many people had scanners?

Sarcasm notwithstanding, at least the priority was correct: keeping people safe.
