The wig-wag would almost certainly have to have been removed shortly. I read at great length the plans for the Metrolink Redlands extension. I believe I recall that the startup project would be a Metrolink extension, but eventual electrifcation is not out of the question. Using the remaining existent trackage of the onetime Redlands Loop (now hemisphere)to Redlands, and a new (old?) return route. PE had a line to Patton and E. Highland at one time. As if someone had been reading my mind, the second phase expansion is looking at trying to duplicate some semblance of the "Loop". It could not feasibly occupy the original route, but the County really wants to rail-serve the International Airport there. It seems that by using a bit of the old ROW of the PE/SP Redlands line from the airport and perhaps an unspecified new segment, such a revival of the Loop could happen.
