Sorry, but the trend in the last few decades has been obscene rewards for top executives even as their companies file for bankruptcy and the taxpayers bail them out. I am all for rewards for performance, but I am also for punishment for failure (silly, I know).
Unions have their place as anyone who has worked in the same anti-worker cultures as railroads would know. I now work non-union but the management does right by us so we have no real need for protection. By the way, I left a railroad job as a union electrician and took another electrical job paying 30% more with better benefits.
