The WURA situation is, indeed, sad. Sad that the County officials failed to do even a cursory background check on Court Hammond (a/k/a Courter Carman) before they did any business with him. Even just a sniff around the Internet would have shown the County officials that "controversy" seems to follow Court Hammond/Court Carman in every "business" deal he makes, with a trail of unpaid bills.

Now, Hammond is apparently telling County officials that he has $350,000 coming from the sale of "another railroad" -- conventional wisdom saying that would be the Yreka Western Railroad. Trouble is, the Internal Revenue Service has filed Federal Tax Liens against Yreak Western which total in the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS and much more than the $350,000 that Hammond is talking about. So, POOF, that money is already gone... it belings to the United STates Government!

Court Hammond (a/k/a Court Carman) exhibits the consummate characteristics of a slick talking conman. Lots of slick talk to suck you in, and then he screws you over. That is the problem with Court Hammond --- he is ALL TALK, an NO DELIVERY.

Court has yet to learn: MONEY talks, and BULLSHxT walks!

Hopefully, the WURA officials will do what is right on Tuesday, December 18, and terminate their contract with Hammond and then go looking for a REPUTABLE operator to operate their railroad line... AND the County officials need to do their Due Diligence BEFORE awarding the contract!
