All the trivia on SP dining car furniture is interesting but does not address the authenticity of the chairs at issue. Therefore I contacted the seller and asked what evidence he had that the chairs were SP. His reply states that his father and grandfather both worked for SP in the Sacramento shops and he has many items from locos and cars as a result. The chairs were made by "Good Form Co" and are stamped 12/48. There is no other evidence of their origin.

My somewhat limited research fails to produce any photos of dining car chairs that match these but I do have one idea. Could they be actual office chairs from the shops offices? The red and orange colors do not match any actual dining car or lounge car chairs used on SP. My advice, do you own research.
