About that caboose...

As per GN records, GN's shops built that car sometime between 1907 and 1911. Most of the frame is probably about the only original part of the car left- the half open carbody only dates back to about 1948, as the original carbody was destroyed in a wreck on the McCloud River about 1943. The frame had an old McCloud 4-wheel caboose body mounted on it for about five years there before the McCloud carshop built the current body.
