There were two Southern Pacific Hospitals in the 1960's. In addition to the one at 1400 Fell Street in San Francisco, there was a hospital in Tucson. Management of the Hospital passed to the Unions around 1964, which in turn sold the Hospital to "UpJohn" in the late 1960's. In 1974 the hospital went bankrupt, and it is now a retirment facility. I do not know the fate of the Tucson facility.

In the past there was also a facility in Sacramento. I know the building was still there in the late 1990's, but do not know if it still survives.

The Oakland and Roseville Hospitals were really offices for Southern Pacific doctors and were used to treat employees.

In my opinion the quality of Southern Pacific doctors ranged from outstanding to still in the dark ages.
