The EMD 567B series engine is a real pain - and one of there big "goofs". BC are better, but you still have to fight the B heads.
Nowadays - the older engines are fast becoming uneconomical. If they don't have 26L or newer air, then you have to change it every year vs three years. And neither BNSF or UP will touch solid bearings, and changing draft gear to alignment control is expensive.
The NW5 got lost in the horsepower race, and it may not have been priced low enough to justify compared to a stock GP7 or SW7.
