Westward, the trains will operate through BNSF's Richmond Yard, then down the Siberia Lead past the 23rd Street Yard (ex-SP and ATSF, now Richmond Pacific), cross over I-580 on what's called the Stege Wye, then run on the former SP Waterside Dill to Stege. Eastward, it's the reverse. It's the same route BNSF freight trains take to and from Oakland.

CP Stege is a control point on UP's ex-SP Martinez Sub between Albany and Richmond. It's on the east side of I-580 between the Central and Gateway exits. The control point is RV009 and is controlled by UP Dispatcher 62 in Omaha. Radio channel AAR 46 (160.800).
