Santa Fe followed the old California & Nevada Railroad alignment for about 1/4 mile north past where El Cerrito del Norte BART station was built, then turned west. BART followed the Santa Fe line west towards Richmond.

If you have Google Earth or Google Maps access, look just north of Del Norte station where BART turns west. Santa Fe also turned west there, a little north of BART and with a tighter-radius curve. The satellite photo shows the old curve well.

Google's street view also shows the I-80 overpass over the Santa Fe - it's visible from San Pablo Ave.
