People always seem to think that the switch in the near head-on scene is run through, but it seem people forget about things such as spring switches, which is what it was. Also the near miss scene really was a near miss, things were a little closer than anticipated. The trestles scenes were filmed on the NP's Vernonia Branch, if I remember correctly. And if you look close in some scenes, you can see the firing valve, a thing not found on a coal burning locomotive. :P
