I heard there have been at least two parties interested in the Cemex property, but the big matzo ball hanging out there is the disposal of 5 acres of waste accumulated since 1906, removal of the buildings and reclamation of the quarries. I would imagine removal of the waste and reclamation of the property would provide a lot of rail traffic for the Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay Railway. It will be interesting to see how the property is developed.

Except for the RCBT&P Beach Train, you will not see any rail traffic beyond MP 9 until 2014. There is a speeder run scheduled for next month, but a sand dune near Davenport must be removed first.
