Actually, I was alluding to how your side of the aisle likes coming up with "the Government caused Newtown" theories. The problem itself wasn't the firearm, it was the individual wielding it. So I'm pretty sure that the reason you want mentally-unstable individuals to bear arms is because YOU'RE mentally unstable yourself. In fact, I bet the vast majority of the members on this board are!

Also, it's fair to say that liberals have made blunders--Clinton buying into this "tough on crime" gambit, botching welfare reform, exacerbating globalization paradigms and whatnot--however if it wasn't for political alignment shifts in America we wouldn't have as much of a problem with this. In this day and age Lincoln couldn't even be elected dogcatcher in San Francisco because "freeing the slaves" would be analogus to saying "disestablish mass incarceration", Nixon would be considered "ultra-left wing" for his policies on combating drug crime, and Reagan would actually be somewhat of a moderate.

And yet you gripe on about big government and their welfare policy while they build exponentially more prisons than before under YOUR guys...impressive how ignorant you are. In retrospect the Republican Party has made more decisions which abridge our constitution, reverse our civil liberties, and create a system of mass incarceration and urban poverty that is as restrictive as Jim Crow and as dehumanizing as slavery. Party of equality--where you are only equal if you are a white Christian male!
