If anyone is interested, the Oregon Pacific Railroad will be hosting train rides again this Saturday out of Oaks Station, directly across from Oaks Amusement Park, in Portland, Oregon.
Train will be our GMD-1 No. 1413, our open air car and our No. 900 caboose. Tickets are $5 per person to ride in the train or $10 per person to ride in the locomotive. Round trips are about 40 minutes long. We’ll be operating from approximately noon to approximately 5pm. We might be there a little earlier and stay a little later depending on demand. There’s no set schedule, we’ll run based on demand.
We’re kind of experimenting to see if it’s worth offering these rides to the public on a somewhat of a regular basis through the rest of the summer.
We tentatively plan to also run Saturday June 22. Thursday July 4th will be our big day and we’ll be out there from 10am to 10pm when the fireworks at Oaks Park are over and will probably have a bigger train, plus at least half a dozen speeders, all on hand giving rides.
So come out and see us and ride Portland’s only public excursion (common carrier) railroad.
