Thanks, Ed. I forgot about those two EMD electrics from 1975. There were few pictures of them ever published. I seem to recall reading that they were dismantled at LaGrange.

Ever notice how we "scrap" things that are either obsolete and/or worn out whereas we "dismantle" good ideas that didn't work out for whatever reason?

One would think that in this era of high oil prices and concentrated rail traffic on certain lines, there would be another opportunity for mainline electrification. Of course the problem is that electricity is also expensive to produce, along with the necessary catenary & substation infrastructure.

I still like my concept SD90MAC electric. Lets see, shall we call it a "SD90MAC-E"?
