Permian Basin- the railroad operating arm of Iowa Pacific- has filed documents with the Surface Transportation Board seeking authority to purchase and operate the Mt. Hood. This outfit operates several other railroads, including the San Luis & Rio Grande and the Arizona Eastern. One of the last Permian Basin filings included what it said was a confidential copy of the sale agreement, along with a Motion for Protective Order seeking to keep the sale agreement private. At the same time a Mt. Hood representative told local media that no sale agreement had been reached and that such reports were premature. Go figure.

I have no idea or information on what this round of storms did to the railroad, if anything.
