The Tweedy turntable was located at the end of the spur behind the yard office off of Alameda, in the southwest corner of the "plant" and off the one of the leads used to spot the plant production line. It was across from Earle Jorgenson Steel.

The turntable was not easily visible and was small, only about 55 feet for turning primarily cars, although we turned an SW 1500's on it, when we wanted to look the other way, often an engine and caboose were tied up in front of it, behind the yard office.

This location was down further in brakeman territory, beyond the LA Terminal yard limits at 92/Firestone where, the Santa Ana Branch turned off Alameda at Firestone, where the tires were made. Alameda was wild back then, with a large yard for auto racks and the auto parts in the middle on a large median with "Big" and "Little" Alameda on either side, and active crossings for all of the spots to cross. You'd also haul empties to the cleaning tracks in Compton. There was so much switching on Alameda back then, that most Harbor bound traffic including even ore trains went down the PE side (todays Blue Line ROW).
