The traffic signals fall to flashing red when the gates are activated. The dark signals are just due to the photographers timing. The LEDs on the enlarged crossing signal are partially burned out. Sometimes, you can see this new style of lamp flicker, and it's not uncommon to see truck trailers with some burned-out LEDs in their taillights, also.

But, I have to take a stab here. Just how long is a five-car train at 30 MPH going to block McKinley/Blackstone? Once again, the one-sided Bee is dribbling their poorly-researched thoughts all over its readers like dirty dishwater on your shoes. I could burn up a lot of space here clearly countering their idiotic diatribe with facts, but suffice it to say that the morons who bought a house next to the railroad tracks...and now want the Fresno County TAXPAYERS to move the tracks into SOMEBODY ELSES BACKYARD, openly admit they don't have any idea about how to do it! This after allegedly 90 years of whining, and NO PLAN! Ha!

The real travesty is that Fresno County taxpayers in far-flung areas will seldom, if ever, benefit form a $500 million dollar boondoggle. I hope the UP tells them to stick it.
