First, and saying is that business doesn't pay taxes, people do. Go ahead, raise fuel taxes, raise registration costs on large vehicles. Lower the GCW to 50,000lbs, cut the HOS to 8 hours.
Drop the axle weight to 15,000lbs, and outlaw doubles. Then sit back and watch freight rates go thru the roof. With that, the price of everything will go along with it. Even if the government gets more money, do you really think it will be spent on roads?
