You have got no argument from me that PBHSR is sheer idiocy. And worse than that - it is being peddled as eco-green, etc. when its true raison d'etre is to enable real estate developers in the high desert. They plan to sprawl out another LA in the Palmdale to Mojave region.
But in PAMPA and the rest of the Peninsula you have either electrified Caltrain or BART w/o hsr. With ghetto BART really noisy beercan cattlecars and no W.C.'s.
Remember PB wanted an Embarcadero Freeway on rails thru PAMPA. Four tracks on hollow core aerials. Now that's genuine Brutalist in the Bechtelian tradition.
