Never was really sure which yard was the Bull Ring and which was the Cornfield, but I do remember a yard between Union Station and Taylor that had several hand throw double slips. It's been over 30 years, so my memory is getting fuzzy. I do remember the big Alcos working the bottom end of Bloomington/West Colton in the late 70s.
Many of the SP C628/C630 sat at Chrome Crankshaft in the B yard at San Berdoo for a few years. One of my trips there saw them being cut up for parts, the prime movers being sold to Canada (CN?) to keep theirs alive a few more years.
