Baldwin S series were very good switchers, quick loading, nimble. Baldwin AS 616 high nose road units used to switch the pull downs were terrible. These had marine diesels used during WWII, so they would only take an hour or so to rev, and began to generate sufficient amperage to actually move, sometime later.
