I was at Airway Heights to survey locos for a potential buyer. There were several GP35s, a couple SWs, some GP9 rebuilds, a GMD1, a couple B40-8 and an SD45. All looked to be fairly close to running condition and no immediate threat of being scrapped. Everything was for sale, the exception might have been the SD45 that I think they said was stored there for a private owner. The amount of parts in the yard made it obvious they have salvaged locos there in the past, but nothing appeared to be imminent.

As far as trucks - as long as the patterns still exist I'm sure they can be cast. No real reason to cast any three axle flexicoils as there should be quite a few out there from salvaged locos. I believe MPI and NRE have both recently used Canadian Dofasco truck designs originally developed for MLW for recent orders of 6-axle export locos, both standard and narrow gauge.

USG owns the casting patterns for their 36" gauge freight trucks so they can obtain replacements.
