Operation of the Geiger spur has been stymied by a broken rail and difficulties getting the gates opened at Fairchild AFB. Our BNSF connection, the Coeur D'Alene local, has had their own set of problems on the CDA branch. Currently there are 5 loads on the interchange track and 10 empties ready to go. We are going to give it a try tomorrow (Friday 2/8/08). We plowed part of the line on Monday, using only the locomotive. The broken rail shut us down and about all we got done was to pull the empties. Here is a link with some pictures:
