Land grant RRs - CP, SP, required US rolled rails. Brands rolled into the web included central pacific, southern pacific, pacific improvement company and other Huntington creatures. The late Ed Strobridge, relative of James the builder, collected and traded for many of these brands. Among SP sections was a 76 lb rail, AFAIK few if any other RRs used that weight.
SP rolled its own tieplates and made frogs, . Drawings for some of the frogs, typically for odd crossings such as both lines curved, exist in the CSRM collection
