In the East LA Interchange on Interstate 5, CalTrans had, for many years,a guard rail supported by some old rail. One day while crawling back towards home, I noticed this and captured the following photo. It is cut off in the manufacturer's name, but "IET WORKS 1889 VIIIII" is clearly visible. The whole median was reconstructed in 2012 or so and looks different now with concrete barrier. I had always wanted to get a section of this whenever it was replaced, but alas did not. I wonder what the contractor did with this rail?
