Back in '70-'71 I was a "Profiled" (ie disabled but willing to finish tour of duty) E-5 GI at Ft. Ord, CA. Somebody/somewhere remembered I could type and I ended up as a clerk/typist in the HQ of an Artillery (I think) unit at Ord. Never typed up recommendations for NCOs, that I remember, but I did churn out my share of OERs. for departing Company Commanders. The good old days, anyone remember Mimeographs?
