Most of the businesses located on the Belt were in, or often connected with, the business of shipping and warehousing. They once upon a time used to use things like boxcars and ships with cargo slings to move cargo. Today, these businesses are increasingly located in massive 200 truck bay tilt ups over the hill in the valley, and they use this new fangled "intermodal" "container" thing to ship it from door to door.....
So ain't it just awful what they're doing with this now prime Bay Front property...? Too bad the women found out the original conditions, so the taxpayers didn't do a complete giveaway, and got this parkland cheap. And, wouldn't it be just awful if it causes folks to invest hundreds of millions of private investment in new development, like they did in Emeryville?
Yep, everything sure does suck today. And, this is clearly the worst example, right?
