Study: Cascadia Fault Eerily Quiet

Somewhat off-topic, but very much a concern for those of us in the Northwestern portion of the country, is the Cascadia Subduction Zone.

An article on the web site of KPLU - Seattle, tells how the Cascadia earthquake fault zone appears to be fully "locked" and ready for the big one to hit.

Obviously this will mean massive damage to the PNW rail lines, but how far inland might we see damage to the railroads from say a M8 or M9 earthquake?
