Pre superliner it was usually a baggage, and former ATSF High level crew car/coach, 3-4 coaches, lounge, diner, 1-3 sleepers. I don't recall running separate diners for coach and Pullman by then. I do recall riding once with the "step down" coach on the rear end, and standard equipment, including private cards on the rear end.

Bob B or CQP would know for sure as old Amtrak guys back in that day.
