Ended up passing through Pendleton today, and can confirm the 2MT project's going strong. Near San Onofre they've started ballasting the new track, and a cantilever's in place over at the north limits of the new control point between Las Pulgas Road and the freeway overcrossing. Lots of bagged intermediate signals and it appears that they intend to keep CP San Onofre as a 1-directional crossover.

And as for trestles, here's one to watch--the Los Peñasquitos Lagoon Bridges Replacement project.
