coupler is stil there you can see the knuckle in the picture with the white object in the center of the coupler, word is the track was driving down the mainline and they hit it head on on on the side the track was not on the crossing but on the track off the crossing and some of the parts of the trck and trailer went under the cab car and and this may have caused the car to lift off the rail , accidents like this can also derail a locomotive so look again at the picture coupler is still there
