Of course, Max is absolutely right.
As my old Swiss banker mentor told me when I was living in Zurich back in the mid 70's: "it costs more to live better"......
Max, we've become a spoiled, lazy, greedy, cheap, and whiny nation, that says it wants everything, but is unwilling to make much of an effort to work and pay for it.....
A commitment in CA of 1 billion a year for grade separation, and 1 billion in new capacity, and speed improvements, would, in about 30 years, would make CA look like Switzerland. It doesn't seem like that much for the 8th largest economy in the world, and would save us many billions in fuel and congestion costs alone......
But nah, at the rate we're going today, it probably won't happen, as we seem to want to choose most our politicians only from an inbred pool of pandering ideological demagogues and/or self serving thieves, too corrupt and/or stupid to accomplish anything like that.
